Rev. Daniel J. Garrett is one who is sold out for the cause of Jesus Christ. Called into ministry at the age of 21 under the leadership of his Late Father, Wilbur Garrett, and supportive prayers of his mother Sophia L. Garrett. For 22 years he has enjoyed being married to Zanyta Johnson-Garrett, who serves as his Chief Encouragement Officer.
Garrett’s main goal is to reach out to the unsaved, exalt the name of Jesus through intricate melodies and an energizing spirit by sharing God’s Word with those who do not know Jesus as their personal Savior. His prayer is that his stand for integrity will be shown in all of his endeavors by living the life that he ministers about.
Daniel is a man of faith and prayer. He places God as the center of his life and relies on the Holy Spirit for guidance. He is a consummate musician, writer, singer, and producer and many have become better for having had the opportunity to work with and for him. He is a leader who pushes his people to do their absolute best because he gives nothing less than his best. He is a preacher who seeks to present God’s word in a way that is understandable and digestible for everyone he encounters regardless of their station in life.
Working toward 25 Years of Preaching, Daniel J. Garrett preached his first sermon entitled ‘What lack I yet’, in November of 1994 under the leadership of his father Pastor Wilbur Garrett at the Antioch M.B. Church in Argo, IL. Daniel Garrett’s methodology of preaching stems from the method of the Apostle Paul when He says in I Corinthians 9:22(b) I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. As a musician and artist, his patience, guidance, technique, and passion for the artistry of music is infectious. His freshman project entitled “HEAVEN” was recorded on the heels of his father’s passing. It was an opportunity to create history. His Music, his lyrics, and his sound. In 2013 he released a single entitled “Bless The Lord” which was a call to all believers to bless the Lord without hesitation. And, his newest release “Highest Praise” release in November of 2020 is an expression of gratitude on top of an upbeat latin rhythm the causes hands to be raise, feet to tap, and a heaviness to be lifted.
